On Our Block by MoCaFi

Turning financial education into a neighborhood movement.

Branding

Design

On Our Block (OOB) is MoCaFi’s national community engagement program — designed to bring financial access, homeownership resources, and banking education directly to inner-city neighborhoods.I led the creative vision and execution for OOB, developing a vibrant sub-brand that resonated with families and communities while staying true to MoCaFi’s mission. Working hand-in-hand with the Marketing Team, Partner Banks, and local organizations, we transformed financial literacy into a live, interactive experience.

Problem:

Financial inequity often starts with lack of access — not lack of interest. MoCaFi’s challenge was to meet people where they are, turning intimidating financial concepts into approachable, human-centered experiences.

On Our Block needed a brand identity that felt familiar, local, and inspiring — one that could live on flyers, tents, and city streets while carrying the credibility of a fintech institution.

Solution:

We developed a sub-brand that translated MoCaFi’s corporate identity into a grassroots, community-facing experience.

  • Visual System: Created a bright, neighborhood-inspired color palette and modular layouts to work across event signage, swag, and social media.
  • Marketing Collateral: Designed over 20 sets of flyers, banners, and digital assets for activations across cities like LA, NYC, Birmingham, Chicago, Detroit, and St. Louis.
  • Experiential Design: Built out event signage, branded tents, and giveaways to foster engagement and local pride.
  • Partnership Integration: Collaborated with Truist, Citi, and Wells Fargo, as well as foundations and nonprofits, to co-brand marketing materials and unify messaging.
  • Cultural Programming: Helped organize local talent, DJs, food vendors, and giveaways to make each event feel like a block party — approachable and authentic.
